Privacy Policy

Park History · Effective August 8, 2026

Park History reconstructs visits to U.S. national and state parks from the dates and locations already attached to photos in your iPhone Photo Library. This policy explains what the app handles and what leaves your device.

Your photos, photo coordinates, and park history are not uploaded to Ash Apps or Superwall. Park matching and photo analysis happen on your device.

Photo Library access

Park History accesses only the Photo Library content you authorize through Apple's permission controls. It reads the creation date and available location attached to each authorized photo to determine whether it was taken within a supported park boundary. It requests thumbnails and display-sized images for park cards and galleries.

If you choose limited Photo Library access, Park History works only with the photos you select. You can change that selection or revoke access at any time in the iOS Settings app.

If an authorized photo is stored in iCloud, Apple Photos may download it from your own iCloud Photo Library when the app requests an image for display. Apple handles that transfer. Park History processes the downloaded image locally and does not send it to Ash Apps or Superwall.

On-device park analysis and storage

Park boundaries are bundled with the app, and matching occurs on your device. Park History stores a scan snapshot in its local app container. That snapshot can include visit dates, photo counts, matched coordinates, park identifiers, and PhotoKit local asset identifiers so the app can reconnect a visit with the correct authorized photos across launches and time-zone changes.

The app also stores preferences, onboarding status, and subscription-access state locally. Ash Apps does not operate an account system or application server that receives this park-history data.

Subscriptions and Superwall

Apple processes App Store purchases, billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund requests. Ash Apps does not receive your full payment-card number.

Park History uses Superwall to deliver subscription paywalls and measure subscription and paywall performance. Superwall may process purchase history for analytics and app functionality, along with automatically generated app, device, and paywall-event information such as an app-user or vendor identifier, app and operating-system versions, device model, language and locale, network type, installation and paywall timing, and an approximate region derived from the network address. Park History does not give Superwall your photos, photo coordinates, park visits, name, email address, or other account profile, and it does not use Superwall data for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Superwall's handling of information is also described in the Superwall Privacy Policy.

Maps and external links

If you choose to get directions, Park History hands the selected park destination to Apple Maps. If you open a legal or other external link, the destination receives ordinary network information, such as your IP address and the requested page, under its own privacy practices. Park History does not append your park history or photo information to those requests.

Google Analytics

Park History uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand aggregate app usage and improve reliability and subscription performance. Google may process automatically generated events and information such as app opens and sessions, an app-installation identifier, app and operating-system versions, device model, language and locale, and an approximate region derived from the network address. Superwall also forwards subscription lifecycle and purchase events to this same analytics property so Ash Apps can measure conversion, renewal, cancellation, and refund performance.

The app does not send your photos, photo coordinates, park visits, name, email address, or other account profile to Google Analytics. Ash Apps does not use Google Analytics for advertising, cross-app tracking, or cross-service profiling. Learn more about how Google uses information from apps and sites that use its services.

Advertising, tracking, and sale of information

Park History does not include advertising, does not perform cross-app tracking, and does not sell personal information. The app's Google Analytics and Superwall analytics are used only to operate and improve the app, subscription access, and offers. They are not used for targeted advertising or to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Your choices and data removal

Security

Keeping photo analysis and visit history on the device reduces server exposure, but no storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. Device and iCloud security are provided by Apple and depend on your device, Apple Account, passcode, backups, software, and Photos settings.

Children's privacy

Park History is not directed to children under the minimum age required to consent to data processing in their country or region. Ash Apps does not knowingly collect children's photos, coordinates, or park history because that information is not transmitted to Ash Apps.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Park History's data practices change. The effective date above will be updated when a revised policy is published.
